Background: TRIP230 was identified through its ability to interact functionally with thyroid hormone receptor-beta. It has also been found in association with the Golgi apparatus and microtubules. TRIP230 binds the ligand binding domain of the thyroid receptor (THRB) in the presence of triiodothyronine and enhances THRB-modulated transcription. This protein is probably involved in maintaining cis-Golgi structure.
